Father Leon J. Schneider (August 17, 1927-December 6, 2002) born in Milwaukee. He attended Saint Francis de Sales Seminary and was ordained on May 30, 1953.

His first assignment was to Holy Angels Parish, Milwaukee on June 12, 1953.

In 1956 he was assigned to Saint Catherine's High School in Racine. In 1971 and became Principal and he also served as assisting priest at Saint Lucy. Father Schneider was a longtime supporter of Catholic Education. In 1991 he became Administrator of Saint Mary by the Lake Parish, Racine.

Father Schneider served on many board of directors in the Racine Area including Lincoln Lutheran Homes, Saint Vincent de Paul and the Serra Club. He served as a Chaplain for Lincoln Lutheran Homes as well as Saint Mary's Hospital and Saint Luke's Hospitals, and had said many Masses throughout the City.

He is laid to rest next to his longtime friend Father Vajda in Holy Cross Cemetery.
